    In 1934 Ivan Davis SR saw a need for a farm machinery sales in the town of Vinton, Iowa so he rented the old livery stable and started Davis Implement.  In 1938 the growing business was moved to its present location on the west side of Vinton at 1006 West 4th Street.  After WWII Ivan's three sons, Ivan JR. Burt, and Dick came aboard.
    In 1958, Roger Albert, a brother in law to the Davis boys joined the business and a new building was built, this is the same building that is used today for the sales and parts department.
    In 1984 the second generation retired and turned the dealership over to a grandson of Ivan Davis SR, Dan Albert and other employees.
    On May 15, 2004 the dealership was purchased by Kromminga Motors of Monticello, Iowa. Another third generation family run dealership in Eastern Iowa.  Dan Albert stayed on as Kromminga Motors of Vinton's parts manager.
